Monday...later

So we had a light snow all day long. Guess it accumulated to a couple inches. During the day tomorrow we may get another inch and then the "Big Storm" will arrive later in the afternoon.

I'm so hoping for a snow day on Wednesday.

Weather is the news

Now to see what comes of this. I would expect early release on Tuesday from schools and everything shut down on Wednesday.

Excitement in town

Neil and I actually entertained ourselves in town for three hours today! I dropped Neil at karate for sparring. I went to the meat market to pick up a few items. We ate lunch at Subway and then headed to the middle school to catch the end of cousin Ryan's basketball game. His team won. Then we drove to the Pig to get groceries. After a quick stop at the car wash we headed on back home. A nice time with Neil.

Food

Decided to make Grandma's brownie recipe tonight. Smells good and looks good. Won't cut and try one until tomorrow!

Also....today is Day 5 of no Diet Coke.

I actually got out of work by 3pm so I could get home and get some laundry going. John's leaving for the weekend and needs clothes! Neil has basketball practice. Run! Run! Run!

Finding the good

Trying to think of something positive I either did or experienced today - personally. There's really nothing outstanding. Arrive to work at 6:30am. Meeting from 9-10:30am. Left at about 11:30am to go visit Mom. Returned about 2:00pm. Left work at 5pm. Took John to his first driver's ed class - 6:15-8:00pm. Now I'm home.

MIL made her wonderful manicotti - it has such a great taste! I had a little bit after I got back with John. Yum!

So John had the big positives today - first day of driver's ed and his passport arrived!

Shopping

Count down to the next birthday has begun. I was successful today buying one practical item and one impractical item. And cards.

Weather!

Something has to be wrong when I consider 22 degrees Fahrenheit to be warm. On a positive note, it’s not minus 10!

I dropped off John’s Eagle Service Project workbook to the Council office today. Sounds like it could get approved rather quickly. That would be a good thing. John has his first work days scheduled in March.

True Confession

I like playing games on Facebook. My favorites right now are The Price is Right, Family Feud, Wheel of Fortune and Scrabble.

You can tell when I grew up. :-)

Positive day!

I enjoyed the day. Took the boys to karate this morning. Picked up my order at the meat market. Got some movies at the library. Watched Neil's basketball game. They lost by five points by played a great game. Dropped Neil at a friend's house. Making a chicken/cheesy pot pie for dinner.

Neil was very accepting of my suggestions for changes to his science experiment project. John wrapped up his Eagle Project book and I believe he got his Communications merit badge wrapped up also.

Most of my laundry is done.

Nothing today went really bad - everything went pretty well. Hopefully we'll watch a movie together as a family after dinner tonight.

Two Days Without Worry

There are two days in every week about which we should not worry, two days which should be kept free from fear and apprehension.

One of these days is Yesterday with all its mistakes and cares, its faults and blunders, its aches and pains. Yesterday has passed forever beyond our control. All the money in the world cannot bring back Yesterday. We cannot undo a single act we performed; we cannot erase a single word we said. Yesterday is gone forever.

The other day we should not worry about is Tomorrow with all its possible adversities, its burdens, its large promise and its poor performance; Tomorrow is also beyond our immediate control. Tomorrow's sun will rise, either in splendor or behind a mask of clouds, but it will rise. Until it does, we have no stake in Tomorrow, for it is yet to be born. This leaves only one day, Today. Any person can fight the battle of just one day. It is when you and I add the burdens of those two awful eternities, Yesterday and Tomorrow that we break down. It is not the experience of  Today that drives a person mad, it is the remorse or bitterness of something which happened Yesterday and the dread of what Tomorrow may bring.

Let us, therefore, Live but one day at a time.

Early in the day

I like myself and most things about my life today.

Then again...it's early. Things could change!

Later...
Baby, it's cold outside! Many area schools have already closed for tomorrow or are on a 2 hr. delay. Our schools are only scheduled for 1/2 a day and it's the last day of finals. There won't be a delay for us - schools will end up being closed - if anything.

Next day follow up:
School was held as scheduled. Poor Neil. He was so disappointed.

Positive actions

I am suppose to find one positive thing each day. Hmm... I did go to the pharmacy to pick up a prescription for Steve today.

Productive

Took advantage of the day off. Got my car back. Went grocery shopping. Did laundry. Did more laundry. Cleaned. Made a pork roast and mashed potatoes. And beef stew!

I did it!

We got through all the crazy stuff today! Neil's Pinewood Derby - I was there for about 45 minutes. John's Jazz Ensemble concert was very entertaining! And I even saw the last 46 seconds of Neil's basketball game (which they won!)

That was easy!

There has been a freeze on project time entry in Microsoft Office Project for the last two weeks as the PMO has been creating year end reports. When the email came through, I printed off the grids for last week and this week so I could track my time manually. Entered it all this morning without any fretting!

Hello again

I'm going to try to find one good thing each day to write about.

Today I finished and sent off a Word template to be used for a disaster recovery manual. It was a big project to move off my desk.
